People who speak your languages tend to have slightly larger areas of overlap from which they can draw in order to effectively communicate with one another. It's nice to be able to connect with people like that.

As a native English speaker with French as a 2nd language, I am happy for random opportunities to give my French comprehension and expression muscles a run.

I don’t understand your purpose in this conversation but it seems adversarial and your attempts to communicate have been ambiguous.
