Being watched all the time changes people. You stop taking risks, stop speaking honestly, stop doing things just because you want to. That’s what constant surveillance does, it shrinks life. this is "surveillance culture"
This might be why North Koreans can't fix their country. Their spirit was killed by the surveillance.
