Absolutely. If they actually are Carpenter ants, they will fuck up any wooden structure they get near.

More I compare online, the more they look like just flying ants. Smaller than carpenter ants, just looking to mate and spread colonies.
That was my guess too but you still might want to put down some Diatomaceous earth.
