A couple discussions I have had with young people this past week (17 - 21 years old) have me convinced that the #fiat system has confused them so deeply they cannot distinguish between true investing and speculative gambling, let alone the importance of saving in hard money.

I think things like Wall Street Bets is one of the primary drivers of this confusion.
They conflate some forex stop loss options, etc. dude that make a 50x return in a day with value investors like Warren Buffet.
It's a hope for an escape without the work since more work is draining in the fiat world.
The damage is so big that they have manage to swift time preference 180° it's all about gambling and booze, they don't even think to think about a future yet. and that's really sad
