We have humane societies and no-kill shelters in the #US Many rely on private donations.

I just came back from Morocco.

Lovely people, dozens of even lovelier cats.

I would take them all and gave home (If I could) but I know it won’t change much. The only way to actually make lasting difference is through education.

Hence my question.

I agree with the first one. Volunteering with humane societies in the #US I have that bias.

The local veterinary community agrees with the foods used. A milk base onto wet foods then dry as different developmental stages.

Have you found fleas to be problematic? That’s a common issue when groups come in.

I am not sure I understand so apologies if I misinterpreted.

I didn’t find fleas problematic. Nor even seen them. Come to think about it - weird. Maybe something I need to learn.

As for food. Cats do not evolve as they grow. They are born and die obligatory carnivores.

Surely they are also mammals so will drink mother’s milk when very small (only).

The only thing dry food is good for is margin. (of mars, nestle etc)

Cats are desert animals. They would absorb water when eating killed prey. The amount of food would mean certain amount of water intake. Thirst is not a sensation one would actually want (when on a desert).

That’s why cats rarely drink.

Add dry food and kidneys will go pretty soon.

The fact that vets suggest dry food only tells one thing. The margin is so high it can be shared.

Well - maybe also another thing- vets need education too.

Agreed? 🫂
