Not trying to live note my reaction to my first time reading Stephen King's It, but I'm pretty near the end and got to the start of the child sex scene and yeah, I really didn't think it would start with "Who's first?" She asked.

I've heard about this infamous scene. I've been told of it makes sense when you read it, yeah it sounds creepy or of context, but.... Blah blah blah
Then it starts with
What's that whiskey sound in the dark? A zipper????
Who first?? 6 on 1 leggo
Basically
"I'm 11"
WE WERE TRAUMA'D TOGETHER LEGGO
I've read too many Steven King books ππ
Do you have any that you favored in particular?
The whole thingπ€·π½
I really enjoy how King uses their thoughts and dialogue to tie the time lines together. Also I love the references to other books.
Halloran! The guy that explains the shining to Danny Torrance is in this book. He uses the shining to get Army men out of a burning bar.
I'm trying to read more since I read the first dark Tower book. Now I'm interested in all the connections.
The Dark Tower books are pretty great; the last 3 feel a bit rushed....they were all written post-van incident and he sorta deviated from the organic 'rhythm' of publication and writing of the series he had been on, where he allowed a few years to pass between books until the book/story was 'ready' --- still; pretty great on-balance - definitely feel there'd be room if a major adaptation ever happens...to maybe have an even more satisfying conclusion
'Wizard and Glass' is pretty great, Lisey's Story I think one could teach a class on the strength of the transitions in that book, 11/22/63 was awesome, 'Night Shift' is a strong early collection with what I thought was on balance his scariest story 'The Boogeyman' and a fun little story called 'Strawberry Spring' that I'm shocked hasn't been adapted into a fun little summer movie .... 'The Long Walk' (Hunger Games anyone?), -- The Talisman .... Fun stuff...
Oh I forgot 11/22/63 was his! I loved that show on Hulu
Maybe you can recommend me an order? Like which ones I would read before others?
I love these short story collections, Different Seasons, and the Bachman Books
Oh thank you! I'll check these out.
That one short is strange by me right?
