I remember this story from a few years ago and I'm still conflicted. Was it foolhardy, or obedience to a calling he had received? Only God knows for sure. I do look forward to seeing this brother in the kingdom of God, though.

And is there a "right to be left alone"? I certainly believe that when it comes to me and the gangs calling themselves "governments". But what about when it comes to the Gospel? We are commanded by our Lord to make disciples from every tribe and language and nation. For a follower of Christ, His will trumps any human rights, so-called. Indeed, His will is what is in the best interests of humanity.

Perhaps the brief efforts of John Chau to bring eternal life to this uncontacted tribe will inspire others to see that it eventually happens...

"There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, Mine!"

–Abraham Kuyper
