Local compute matters.

What do you mean? Can you explain.

I mean that we should aim to build and use local computer infrastructure, and confront its demands from land access and ownership to energy and electronics production.

Rented remote compute power and storage have become the next great control illusion after the more obvious political and financial ones have slowly become more noticed and contested.

Until people run relays or nodes on machines they control with power they generate on land they have full responsibility for, they have no useful connection to the reality of electronic networking.

I wrote this spontaneously, it can probably use further refinement.

Agreed. But not all countries enjoy the same levels of freedoms.

Which makes picking the right confrontations all the more important. Otherwise people work, fight, suffer or perish for meaningless abstractions.
