๐Ÿ“ฃ Nostr needs real Linux clients โ€“ with broader community support

Nostr is a free and open protocol, built on decentralization and censorship resistance.

But where are the serious, native Linux clients?

Sure, there are clients โ€” and they deserve huge credit.

But many are maintained by just one main person. Thatโ€™s fragile.

Others are browser-based or optimized for mobile. Great, but not enough.

Linux is the natural home for local-first, auditable, and privacy-respecting communication.

Yet most Nostr clients on Linux still depend on web stacks โ€” making them almost as exposed as traditional platforms.

๐Ÿ‘‰ What we need:

- Native GUI clients for Linux with current nip support

- Zero telemetry by default

- Optionale: local AI-based filtering (instead of relay moderation)

Until then, a decentralized protocol without truly local autonomy remains vulnerable โ€” not by design, but by missing tools.

What do you think?

Or maybe Iโ€™m missing something โ€” is there already a solid native Linux client I just donโ€™t know about?
