Question for smart folks/nostr devs:

Would it theoretically be possible for Rumble to become the mystical "Nostr video client" we've all been waiting for? I don't fully understand the technical back-end stuff/if a database that big could just flip the right switches and become "Nostr-integrated"

It seems like they've made quite a few based moves in recent years on the #Bitcoin + #V4V front. How cool would it be if they broke even more epic ground by adding Nostr to the stack... 👀 #asknostr

It would be huge. We have serveral NIPs they could utilize.

They could turn every Rumble account into a Nostr "account" and manage keys for existing users. They could add Nostr login for new Rumble users.

They could publish videos to Nostr relays with NIP-71. Comments could be NIP-22.

And they could add Zaps.

i think the issue is just that video hosting is really expensive, and apps that do it for "free" are usually monetizing/exploiting their users in really bad ways to offset the costs

All of this sounds pretty standard to me, is it not?

As a creator I'm cool with all of this; obviously a lot of Nostr folks dislike ads but like you said, video hosting is expensive so I feel most users would fully understand that trade-off

If they made a finished version of plebs.app faster than plebs.app gets finished itself, that could work
