A Democracy is ruled by leaders elected by the people. These rulers rule by mandate, and create and enforce the laws they create.

A Constitutional Republic operates under a Rule of Law, where all are subject to it regardless of position, and government itself is restrained by it. And elected representatives represent their people in the Legislature as laws are created. These two forms of government have almost nothing in common except that elections are held.

This is why America was founded as a Constitutional Republic, and not a Democracy.

And all of you Americans have had your Constitutional Republic overthrown and replaced with an Democracy simply by politicians and media repeating Democracy over and over for the last 100 years until you just believed it.

But in every legal document that matters, it’s still a Constitutional Republic

Democracy is majority voted politicians rule, essentially mob rule.

A Republic is majority vote restricted by geography/State, hence ensuring minority areas are equally represented, essentially protecting the minority voice or maintaining diversity of thought.

The US is a Republic because it is based on Individualist philosophy, the individual being the smallest minority.
