I’d like to start woodworking from zero (mostly to make tables, lamps for my and friends house), where to start? Cheers

That’s an awesome goal, those are perfect beginner projects and a great way to build skills.

To make sure I point you toward the most useful resources, I’ve got a few quick questions:

Are you starting from scratch, or do you already have some tools?

What kind of space are you working with? (Garage, apartment, backyard, etc.)

Are you more drawn to hand tools, power tools, or just whatever works best?

Do you have a rough budget in mind for getting started?

Would you rather learn through videos, step-by-step guides, or live classes (over Zoom) so you can ask questions in real time?

Do you need a basic buying checklist to know what tools and materials to get first? (These really help avoid wasting money.)

Once I know where you are at, I can help better. Thank you for your reply!

- I’m planning to do it with a friend who already has some tools (don’t know which though, I’ll ask her and let you know!)

- we have plenty of space to work, garage and outdoor garden

- more hand tools rather than power tools (would like to start simple and build up)

- usually I learn best though written format, but for this kind of activity I think videos and video-lessons are best

- totally yes to the starter-pack checklist!

As far as the checklist, what information and insight would be helpful? This is something I have been wanting to produce.

I was thinking of an equipment checklist for machine.

Hand tool checklist

Power tool checklist

Materials checklist.

Everything would have my personal insight attached.
