The Romans had a rather peculiar way of dealing with unwanted animals, particularly rodents. Instead of relying solely on traps or poison, they sometimes employed trained weasels. These weasels, often fitted with tiny collars and leashes, would be sent into homes and other buildings to hunt down rats and mice. It was a form of biological pest control, Roman style.
