I am not confused. You referred (as did I) to the basin of Mexico which is in the center of modern day Mexico. I was not referring to Reino de Mexico. That region was conquered in circa 1521. 1507 is when "America" was named. The REGION is called America. This is my contention.

As I said about Persia and Arabia. These are political. Continents are less so political but an agreement made by many peoples on the names of regions. So, to be clear I don't know what to call the Persian/Arbian gulf because they are both equally politcal. I suggested the Middle Eastern Gulf.

No confusion. Just a logical deduction based on regions not countries.

Claiming the change is not political just seems disingenuous, any sane person would ask you not to change something if it's not broken, people knows it as the Gulf of Mexico, that's enough of a reason, you only speak of it because cheeto dorito did, i speak of it because people making false claims (as in "Mexico wasn't a country until 1821" when discussing Gulf of Mexico). I can see from your initial note that you keep moving the goalpost as the mexicans didn't "name it after themselves", so stop lying.

And you end up backpedaling from that initial "Yeah" in the Arabic Gulf/Persian Gulf debacle. Bye.

Lol, define Mexico. Is it a country or a region? I haven't back peddled. "Yeah well," is a transitive expression meaning I acknowledge what you said and now I have a comment.

The conquest of the reino de mexico started 15 years after germans started calling the region America.

People change things for accuracy literally all the time so, that's a false claim as well.

I'm sorry you are so attatched to a less accurate name of a body of water. I am just a fan of being the least biased and most accurate.

A final point, you don't know me. You don't know the hours long debates over naming conventions I've had with friends into the late night hours. This is a thing of mine before old Donny of the deal brought it up. I am an anarchist, do you really think I care what presidents do?

I don’t need to define Mexico, the gulf is already called the Gulf of Mexico. You did backpedaled as you agree to the fact that no country can change the Persian gulf name just by political interest, yet here we are talking about the change of name of a gulf with a very clear political interest, and if you can’t see the political element, well that’s just ignorance. I never said you lie about the Mexico gaining independence (use proper words please, "became a country" is not a thing, u know) in 1821, please read my note again, again a very disingenuous thing to do. Nobody cares what the germans call the region except the germans. Are the germans to name the Persian Gulf too? Gulf of Mexico is accurate too, you just want your way, a very biased way, a very german way apparently. And lets not get this emotional please, so no personal information or cataloging, just be Jack.
