It's kinda cute how our parents and family as kids make us feel the world revolves around us. So by the time we're a teen, we actually believe it. A teenager can literally talk about themselves and their world for hours and days.

I think I was about 17 or 18 when I began to suspect, hey maybe that's not really the case.

Definitely by the time I got into boot camp, I had that harsh realization. Me to self, "hey the world does not revolve around you. In fact the world doesn't give two sats about you." But it's really cute to watch a kid be a kid.
