I take my cues from the masculine in nature. The Rooster primarily. He does not get his affirmation from the hens. They find him to be annoying aloof. He struts around. The hens mock his bravado and yet he steps on their head and he shags them. They then shake the dirt of their plumage and go about the day.

He finds a worm and he informs the girls. Hey look girls what I found you. Then struts off leaving the hens to quarrel over who gets the worm.

All the while mocking him, rolling their eyes. As he saunters around.

He knows that he is enough. He knows that he is king! He protects those that he loves with a fierce hedge of protection. He rousts the hens when a danger arises. He is on the look out as the hens concern themselves only with getting nutrients to make the next generation.

So long as they are healthy, so long as they are protected. He is enough. He measures up! He is the COCK and he will decide. No one needs to recognize that not even his girls as he is self assured.
