One of the craziest stories of the decade happened just last year.

It’s a significant event both for government tyranny and human liberation.

And it deserves to be told again and again because the lessons from this moment in history are more relevant today than they ever have been.

In January 2022, over 3,000 trucks and 15,000 protesters swarmed into Ottawa, Canada.

They wanted one thing:

To be able to drive their trucks without taking a poisonous shot.

It was called the Freedom Convoy.

It was one of those protests that seemed truly genuine through and through. Plenty of protests can get quickly co-opted or can be silently funded to sow discord in America and other countries (think Antifa).

But the Freedom Convoy was made up of real people who just wanted the simple freedom to reject a "medicine" they didn’t feel they needed.

The Canadian government had taken emergency authority to do things beyond the law (surprise, surprise) and they wanted to force compliance.

At the height of the protest, the Canadian government got worried.

A LOT of people were suddenly donating money to the cause.

They needed a way to shut this down immediately.

The Freedom Convoy had a GoFundMe fundraiser. But GoFundMe shut it down on behalf of the Canadian government.

They set up a GiveSendGo fundraiser. This organization was hacked to leak the names of Freedom Convoy donors. And the Canadian government put out an order halting the access to the funds.

But then the worst happened.

It’s a nightmare that those of us in the Truth and Freedom community have been screaming about for a long time when warning about a cashless society.

The Canadian government froze the private bank accounts of at least 75 Canadian citizens.

Totally unprecedented.

At this point, what can you do?

How do you fund a righteous protest when the government can stop fundraising corporations from giving you money and freeze private bank accounts?

Not with gold or silver…

Not with cash…

Not with a foreign currency…

And not with barter.

The ONLY thing that could overcome Trudeau’s fascist crackdown was…

Bitcoin.

And it did.

On the same day that the Canadian government invoked the Emergencies Act to seize more power, the Freedom Convoy raised $213,000 worth of Bitcoin at the time.

The ONLY issue with Bitcoin was that most of the truckers didn’t know how to get the funds into their own wallets and use it!

Bitcoin successfully overcame government censorship and unprecedented tyranny.

But the people who needed it the most were way behind in being able to use it to fund their liberty.

Eventually, crypto activists were able to educate enough truckers and concoct a plan to get the funds into their hands.

Over $600,000 was delivered to truckers in that protest through Bitcoin.

One of the truckers, B.J. Dichter, said this about this moment:

"Because we always talked about this hypothetical, the government tyranny of blocking your bank accounts, stealing your money and whatever… Well, now they just did. So, it proved everything. Everything that people said about Bitcoin like, ‘Oh, that’s hyperbolic. That’s never gonna happen.’ Well, guess what? Yesterday’s conspiracy is today’s reality. And I think in the future, people are going to see, that was the moment that regular people and everybody understood that the government can’t track it, can’t block it, and shouldn’t be able to."
