I would expect J down K up, H and L for other functions. that way you don't need to move your fingers much..

hmm, that's a weird arrows setting, not sure i'd get used to that.. but if you run the code locally you can modify the keys to whatever you want..
it is still used in vim. and it work like that on 9gag, reddit, I think that even on facebook (not using it). so it is kind "standart". try it, it is more comfortable
I prefer to move my middle finger for up and down, it's what comes more natural to me..
It's Vim's default keys, inspired from the typewritters that didn't have arrow keys!! It's weird but, vim coders love it!
exactly and it is coming from much older concept called touch typing. it is not just some made up thing. point is that you don't need to move fingers from middle of keyboard
