Ever since my wife went into the hospital a few months back, I've been dealing with cluster panic attacks (like 4-7 a day). I've cut out coffee and started going to the gym regularly again in hopes that it will help, but I wanted to see if you guys had any tools you use for managing anxiety. #plebchain #asknostr

How are your vitamin levels? Iron, magnesium, B supposed to help. No experience though.

Really sorry to hear that. I've been reconnecting with my self care list recently after letting some things go.

- Deep breathing

- Yin Yoga

- Regular bed times

- Use a light alarm

- Cut out doom scrolling even if just periodically

- Meditation

- Practice gratitude

- Cold showers

- Reduce caffeine

- Zinc

- give yourself permission to do nothing

Specifically for anxiety:

- Magnesium, Fish oil, and B vitamins can help stabilize my mood.

Test nutrient & hormone levels

Yoga, meditation, deep breathing, psychologist.

Taking care of the physical aspect is very important as well as prayer and reading the Bible. I have been reading through this book, and it has been very helpful to me so far.

I have been going through very rough times myself. I am learning to trust in the Lord one moment at the time, and it has been hard as some of the circumstances in my life have been progressively getting worse. It is very hard to get some hope going to bed, just to wake up and things get worse.

In all this though, God is shaping my heart. I have far more compassion towards other people now. I have learned that not only people experience different things in life, but they also experience things in life differently.

I focus on God and His Kingdom, knowing that all pain and trials are part of His custom-way to get me to heaven, and I try to be obedient and cast my care and anxieties on Him.

I am praying for you.

Also, what has been helping alot the following sermons, especially the part where John MacArthur mentioned that anxiety is not a business to be managed, anxiety is to be eliminated. What?!?

It sounded a bit absurd to me in the middle of pain and depression, but it is nevertheless true.

Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

God doesn't minimize or neglect the presence of worry, anxiety, and depression. He offers a remedy.

Our view of the sovereignty and the character of God is the CAUSE as well as the very REMEDY for our anxieties (indirect quote from Consider the Lilies book).
