This is why we have a Matrix server, and Poast does too. Regardless of who runs your instance if you reveal personal information and stuff like that in fediverse DMs you are out of your mind. You shouldn't do it regardless unless you 100 percent trust the person youre sending them to but at least use a more secure service.
