I tried using it, but the chats weren't syncing, I would log into amethyst and see messages that weren't in 0x and then the messages i sent in 0x weren't visible in amethyst

In 0xchat messages are private by default friend. You can disable that option if you want but it is safer.

0xchat is compatible with amethyst. Are you using the same relay in 0xchat and amethyst? Also, check if the stranger conversation has the chat you're looking for?
