This is a big if. I pitched groups on nostr to a guy I know who runs a media company, and he got it, but the bar to beat existing solutions is very high. Coracle is definitely not there yet, and I don't think anything else is either.

Agreed! But the organization size it will take to be good enough isn’t likely in the thousands like existing players.

Yeah, 3-10 should be plenty for most things

The obvious follow up to reading this, is ask if we could make a bullet list of what's needed to reach that bar. :)

All solutions will need to be:

- Intuitive

- Fast

- Not buggy

So far we're 0/3 I would say. Specific solutions will have other needs.

Check! I buy the importance of those.

First of the bat, one nostr benefit here is that all the data is open. Meaning a business client could be built and run on stronger servers rather than just client side.

We must remember thar business are built for paying, and hence they are also ready to pay for a more business streamlined service.

Historically business have been very dependent & under the leash of whatever business tools facebook, twitter, etc. provided and or their API. And it was just considered badluck, if the service canceled / closed / changed their API or tooling. Nostr is unique in offering consistenty over time here.

Another sell point in "that all the data is open" minimizing business risk of getting locked into services that die out

Also did I say all the data is open? x)

Absolutely worth looking into!

the adoptionists are so boring.

they would sell your grandmother to get more DAU numbers, for what purpose, who knows. they are not up to step 2 in the underpants gnome story.

the people will use the tech when it's mature enough and has a value proposition they can understand. censorship is gonna be a big one. resilience in the event of cyberattack and network chaos.

not only that, adoptionists don't have the understanding that nostr is an event broadcast network, not just a social network. it could be used to propagate any kind of information, at all. i can see uses for logistics networks, for examples. inventory advertisments, out of stock notifications, available transport services, transport schedules, actual bus locations, all sorts of things like this could be carried on Nostr.

anyhow

This is why I am targeting special interest “freedom allied” IRL orgs and groups that don’t already have a freedom respecting online home.

General audience adoption will always be a longer haul. Yet people will follow their friends and collaborators onto a new platform. Shorten the reach by building small, performant, and “bug free” bespoke solutions to bring these groups closer to The Nostr.
