Yes. Uni-party culture war bullshit. It’s the distraction to keep everyone’s eyes off the money. People are so horsebroken that they’ve accepted that inflation as an unavoidable constant, or even a good thing. Once one is in this worldview, and fixing the money is “impossible” the only “progress” that can then be made is ensuring that “your team” is in charge to point the money printer at your favored identity initiatives and away from those you politically disagree with. Enrich me, impoverish my enemies!

This is great for politicians because it make the culture war an existential thing…AND they can alway blame economic backsliding on 1) not being in power or 2) the other guys obstructing things even if they are in power (and hence why they need MORE power)

All good points. I wonder, periodically, how much can *actually* be fixed by fixing the money.

But then, the more I learn, the more it becomes apparent that “broken money” and problematic incentives are deeply intertwined with so many of the apparently unfixable issues.

So I have significantly more hope and sense of direction than I ever used to 🤜🤛
