Nvme drive nodes are FAST! About 12 hours to sync the entire chain on a non pruned node.

How do they do it?
My node has a few things going for it that helped that time. Stable gigabit fiber internet, nvme drive, ryzen 3 pro cpu instead of arm on a raspi, 16gb ram.
I think the Nvme is huge though. The fastest Sata SSD will run 400-500MB per second read and write. A completely average Nvme drive runs 3500MB per second read and write, 7500 is possible for nvme with the best drive and motherboard. That 7x speed multiple looks suspiciously close to the ratio of 12hrs instead of 3-4 days.
No kidding. I always assumed the ibd would take a day minimum, but my nvme took 14ish hours.
