Months later I still think NIP-05 is silly and not needed. Why do I have one again? Does nothing.

I put fair amount of value on them. Especially if they are self hosted!

What do you find useful about them?

A nip-05 shows the person cares about their nostr identity. It's also a barrier of entry for bots or spammers.
