The push to control teen access to social media is really a push to require KYC on all apps and websites.

In short, you cannot arrest people for their opinions online if you don't know who they are.

Even mainstream lib journos are talking coherently about this issue. Why are we being pushed closer toward mass surveillance?

nostr:npub1d9nndmy3lx6f00cysrmn2v9t6hz280uwycw0kgcfdhvg99azry8sududfv If you think this is bad, in Australia both sides of our government are pushing for a government issued digital ID to be used for social media KYC, as well as a mis- and disinformation bill which will give them power to fine based on a very broad definition of ‘harm’

I believe bots are also a part of this agenda to achieve censorship and KYC.

Bots are annoying so you filter, block, or censor them. This then forces measures to insure only real people are online and subsequently a verification process.

All a slippery slope.

Good luck getting mastodon instances and nostr to follow these rules. The internet has to be gatekeeper companies (facebook, pornhub, etc) so they can be brought to court, etc. no company no control.

Absolutely. Such a rabbit hole of conversation… but yes, absolutely

and more additional notes on that- I’d love to say I get banned for being an anarchist but I don’t… I get banned for looking young and everyone thinking I’m a fed.

So then I have to remind everyone once again about freedom of speech and here we are
