You could setup tailscale on your router (eg pfSense which can be virtualized) and route all the tailscale traffic through a privacy VPN client on the same router.

Tailscale with exit node

Yes but you set everything up on your router and then turn on tailscale on the phone and choose to use your router as the exit node 👍

Sounds good, should be able to do it on OpenWRT / DD-WRT as well. Will look into it, but still would enjoy the feature built into any social media or messaging app for it's simplicity.
