A large study done on a large dataset including the Nurses Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-Up study found that eating fast foods and fried foods away from home was POSITIVELY coorelated with surviving to and beyond 70 years of age, being free of chronic disease, intact mental health, intact physical function, and intact cognitive function.

Now I'm sure you've always believed that eating fast foods and fried foods was bad for you.

So, presuming the study was done correctly, and presuming that fast foods and fried foods are indeed bad for you as we have always believed, can anybody explain the result?

I can think of at least two possible explanations (confounders), but I'd like to hear what other people think first.

This study went on for 70 years and beyond? Also too many factors to consider. I’d say read and analyze the study, I’ll pass.

The Nurses study is quite famous. I haven't seen this particular excerpt, tho.
