Brazil has taken a huge step backwards in terms of freedom and financial privacy in 2024. In addition to banning X/Twitter for Brazilians, all people's financial data will now be shared between state entities to “facilitate tax collection and increase transparency”.
In Brazil, 1984 is not fiction anymore, it is state policy.
