Is a raspberry pi zero suitable for a lightning node?

I'm thinking the 512mb RAM on the board is not enough and it isn't possible to add RAM. 4GB RAM seems to be the minimum suggested for running a node. Am I missing something because I've seen people using a Raspberry pi 3 and that only has 1GB RAM?

Depends on wether you want to run any apps on your node. If yes, 8gb is preferable. If you just want to manage channels, you should be fine with 1gb

And 512mb...just too little for a bitcoin full node and lightning node?

Can’t say - never tried running one with such low ram
