You're right about the tech being down... dad was worried we wouldn't be able to buy drinks at the pub. I explained to him the pub accepted sats and as long as we had power... the drinks would flow.
Explained how decentralization of society and tech on a grand scale would probably also negate the effects of a large scale "societal meltdown" and that Bitcoin right now is kinda like mankinds monetary insurance so if fiat died overnight... society would not collapse. Bitcoin allows this. 🤯

It's more work, but it seems like the better path forward at times. PV 🤙🏻
I think the only thing that's more work is the Nextcloud. Everything else can be ordered pre-loaded on your device, or installed just as easy as any other app.
Even then, if you buy a Murena DeGoogled phone, it comes preloaded and preconfigured with Nextcloud, plus an email address.
Only decentralized if we use different software and servers.
