Thanks for these great suggestions. I get through a lot more listening than reading. Simply because my job entails so much sitting and studying. Are there any other good listens on this you would suggest? I listen to books and podcasts. If it is a podcast, I prefer longform that allows a more nuanced approach.

I believe the Kuyperian view is so unsatisfying because it miscategorizes the world into ecclesiastic and civil governments, as though both are legitimate.
Scripture throughout divides the world into the Kingdom of God and the kingdom, or fiefdoms of satan.
May I suggest that you read a book by Michael Heiser titled "The Unseen Realm?" It goes into great detail with extensive biblical background explaining how and why all of the nations of the world--other than the ecclesia--are actually under the control of satanic principalities and powers.
Of course, Matt Mouzakis' book (discussed on the pod) also covers this extensively.
Also for free you can read much I've written on the topic, and I delight in interacting with anyone serious about discussing the topic of the Kingdom.😃
