Maybe we should write an NIP-1840: using cashu sat as a note stamp.
The first stamp was issued in 1840.

I 100% support the mail system analogy. It’s great. Could such an NIP be extended to any note (even outside of keychat)?
Yeah, the stamp mode can be used for all nostr notes, whether they are public or private notes.
