There were no smart phones in the 80's? There wasn't even mobile phones. Land lines and pay phones was all there was.

Correct, programming like tomorrow's world in the UK, showed us what we could expect to see in the future.

I remember in the late 80s seeing the presenters explaining how we'll speak to each other on a live video link.
