You can be dressed casually and still make an effort. I’m not “dressed up” every day: I’m a mom and I work for myself. But I DO make an effort every day.

I dress functionality. But I've also found some decent brands that blend fashion and function. I have a few nice pairs of biking pants that are water resistant and manage to also look pseudo dressy.

I think for men, the cut and fit of clothing matters a lot and some nice, cool shoes go far to upgrade a casual look. It’s not about “dressing up” so much as having any element of actual style.
