DMs are encrypted but the metadata on who is talking to who is visible.

Assume that the content of your DMs will leak eventually

Lol yup. Metadata is proof enough for "guilt by association" anyways. I dont consider nostr private as much as I enjoy the protocol

They could influence content, but the important thing is that we can ignore them and push our own content to the largest possible audience.
