so true... the mom is so much more in control... the body pushing when it's ready, not when the hospital team says to push... and without an epidural (pain relief procedure) the body is not numb and mom is better able to listen to her body and respond accordingly.

yes agreed my wife and her body know exactly what to do. There was no epidural for the hospital birth either and luckily we had a midwife looking out for us but just that hospital environment and people telling her what to do creates stress wich releases adrenaline wich slows or even stops the natural bith process as opposed to when she is able to listen to her body and natural instincts then the body releases oxytocin wich aids the process.
