After living in a developing economy with unreliable electricity, my main takeaway is own some means of electricity production.

On the gardening/chicken side of things, many areunaware of how connected our food supply is to the global energy market. Even many 'organic' protien sources are only two or three steps removed from synthetic nitrogen. If energy becomes expensive/unreliable the price of protien will go up. Think about making your life resilient from and energy/protien stand point.
