Just back from one of those “shit hole” countries. Main city was cleaner, safer and more energetic than any US city today. Outside of the city was poor but poor with community and pride, not “I buy Mountain Dew and camel wides with my WIC credits” poor like rural America. I’d rather be on the ground floor heading up than the top floor heading down.
