I’m excited about this next mini-project of mine for #nostr #safebox. I’ve been studying card payment networks, specifically, how a digital copy of your payment card gets into your Google, Apple or Samsung Wallet. I have the same card in three different wallets and wondered how that actually worked. Quite simply, it’s a unique secret, kept in a trusted context, namely the digital wallet.

I realized I could do the same with Nostr Wallet Connect. I also realized I could place the ‘secret’ (encrypted ) on a NFC card.

The payment terminal would generate an invoice, acquire the secret from the NFC card, either submit directly to a relay, or submit to a processor that can send the request to the NWC process. This could be a decentralized replacement for the credit card and payment networks that use cards.

I have all the pieces individually working, and I am hoping to have a working end-to-end concept in a few days.
