Governor of the National Bank of Romania has been targeted in a deepfake video that show him encouraging people to invest in a financial scam.
The fake video had appeared on Facebook as paid advertising.

If only we could use public key cryptography to verify people are who they say they are and did not need to rely on a corporation known for selling people's information to the highest bidder to vet these things.
