Our society we live in is not possible without trust. Trust is everywhere - from the food you ingest, the vehicles you drive, the flights you take, so and and so on.
“Don’t trust, verify” while well intentioned is not meant to apply to everything, but some people seem to think it does. That’s just willful ignorance.
Yeah it’s more like “don’t trust (blindly), verify (first)”, but that’s a little less catchy.
