i've got mine tuned down to 900w (pretty much optimal energy to hash ratio for an s9) and it makes a great little underdesk heater. It uses less electricity than my 1200w from walmart so i count that part as a plus. the 400 ish sats a day i make when running it hardly matters, but sats get stacked 🤷.
I consider my bitaxe a lottery miner. If the universe decides to increase my fortune for whatever reason, it's got a way to do it.
Same way I use the S9 and bitaxe. Got my S9 keeping my office nice and toasty warm right now.
i have plants in the garage so i run 1420w at night, when my power prices jump up at 7am i run at 650
Over here they recently swapped the prices around. Now it's cheaper during the day due to the overloaded network. Courtesy of trying to get everyone to install solar panels everywhere only to figure out that the network can't handle it.
The low/high rate is not a huge difference though. Like 2c difference. I just hate the way this plays out.
