I think a protracted war of attrition is the more likely scenario. As long as Ukraine is given weapons they are willing to go toe to toe with Russia. I don’t see why things have to escalate to a WW3 scenario to be honest.

The Taliban held out against the US for 20 years and ended up leaving. Who is to say Ukraine couldn’t wage a low intensity insurgency to drain Russia dry…

All Ukraine has to do is not lose. Russia can’t sustain this tempo forever. Look at its economy and how much it spends on defense. They need a ceasefire more than Ukraine.

I don’t believe the conditions under which Ukraine could be perpetually sustained as a war fighting entity exist, which make endless war a less likely that other outcomes. Rome held out longer than the Taliban as the masters of their fate, but eventually things changed.

Crazier things have happened… I think their desire to not be taken over by Russia is pretty high. Obviously they are willing to die to stay free…

There are few things in the world that I believe are true, but one thing I will never doubt, that is the people running the government will not hesitate to grind us all into gore in their bloody battlefield and lie to us about the nobility of their intentions. Liberty is always what the authority says it is. Freedom is choosing to believe it or not.

I agree with you on that
