The way people sugarcoat using AI is so stupid. I’m an impatient hack fraud, I don’t believe in copyright, that’s why I use AI. I’m not debating anti-AI people about it.

My main issue is when people use it lazily, like giving a 5 word prompt and using the first thing they get back. AI isn't really different from any other new technology, but I do think the low effort output from AI is particularly ugly and so people have grown an aversion to it
I hate low-effort use too. I’m not exempt from it, but I do try to put some effort into my stuff with my own edits. I went to a conference this year where one of the presenters from a Big Tech company used AI to make comics, and it had all the ugliness: the piss filter, multiple hands, letters that didn’t exist, the whole package. C’mon at least edit it in Photoshop or something.
Exactly, those sorts of people are the reason the term "slop" exists. AI is a tool that can be used skillfully or that can make every problem look like a nail. I think if people just started having higher standards for what they create, a lot of the hate would go away.
Except for the losers who are like "waaaah AI datacenters use too much water" "waaah AI is stealing revenue from artists". Unfortunately I think we're stuck with those idiots
