The fees are much cheaper because the pegin can be done by yourself if you have an elements node or with the tdex application, the only cost is the chain transaction and the pegout has a cost of 0.1% with sideswap.

Would note, it looks like you have to wait 102 confirmations to peg in (about 17 hours). Not too bad considering you get about one mix per day on average with Whirlpool.

You can avoid the peg-in by buying directly lbtc for example in bisq, moreover the transactions in Ibtc are confidential, a third party cannot see the amounts.
