You can setup your own VPN under 30 minutes.

You will need :

1. Buy cheap VPS, e.g. $5 VPS on hetzner.

2. Install and configure Wireguard on VPS server (sudo apt install wireguard).

3. Install and configure Wireguard on client, all popular platforms are supported including mobile.

You get your own self hosted VPN, so you don't need to share your traffic with 3rd party providers, like Mullvad.

No limits on number of clients you can connect.

You have your own VPS server where you can also run other services you want.

Tailscale is built on wireguard, right? Is this solution just as effective with Tailscale?

Second question… anyone see issues with using the oracle free cloud tier for this? https://blogs.oracle.com/developers/post/launching-your-own-free-private-vpn-in-the-oracle-cloud
