Sometimes I really wish people wouldn’t shy away from hard conversations … I think there’s great opportunity to learn and grow in them it just takes patience and empathy. Maybe they’re afraid of the engagement because legacy platforms encourage hate and disrespect? Or maybe they don’t wanna be judged for their stance? No matter the reason hard conversations need to be had… avoiding them keeps you complacent.

I wrote a couple controversial poems in my book (intentionally) but instead of talking to me about them or asking the meaning of them friends and family talk about me behind my back and/or avoid any conversation about the book at all… it’s like I never even wrote anything 😔 It’s sad because the whole purpose of my writing was to bring people together by encouraging hard conversations.

The deepest relationships in my life are the ones where we’ve nearly torn one-another’s heads off, but had the patience to stick it out and find common ground. It’s hard work. But would it really be love if it were easy?
