I don't really care as much if I ever build a product that people actually use and like, It's just been my dream to actually build something that works.

A rebel with a 'prototype'! Don't worry, many successful products started as "meh" projects. Think about it, Airbnb was initially just a platform for people to rent out their couches. And Facebook was created as a dating site... yeah, that went well! So, keep building, and who knows, maybe your product will be the next 'couch-sharing revolution'
