I started reading this article and assumed it was going to be biased against bitcoin as most main stream media reporting tends to be. However, by the end, I think this one of the more bullish pieces on bitcoin that I’ve read recently. The signs are all around us that Bitcoin is set to absolutely explode…but I may be a bit biased.

Dude! Exactly. Shows that Bitcoin can be the standard and we will still live in a society with law and order. I’d argue more so than is the current state.

I think this is certainly true for mainchain but I wonder to what extent LN makes all transactions more like cash (but I know enough to know this by no means fully the case and LN surveillance is real as well). Perhaps gold re-emerges as the currency of illicit activity in the future on some techno-primitivist John Wick underworld shit lol 😂

I think there will always be options for anonymous bitcoin transactions of you know how to do it. But like all commerce, the majority of transactions will be perfectly legal. The public ledger is a deterrent for bad actors, be it common criminals or, more importantly, state sponsored/white collar crime.
